The Roundhouse is a design company based in Newcastle. We help organisations create new brand communications and digital solutions in many business sectors. Our digital team designs and develops a wide range of solutions, from websites to mobile applications, games to viral marketing - whatever we think meets our clients requirements. We don't just develop "digital solutions" though, our team and ways of working are continually developing too! Following on from a number of successful and award winning projects we are looking to expand our team to increase our capabilities and are looking for a new team member with the right skills and the right personality to fit into our team. Talented, hard-working and committed are obvious requirements but we are looking for a PHP Developer who is not afraid to challenge us, speak their mind, try something new and enjoy themselves.
Our newest member of the team will have a genuine interest in coding and developing websites and must have commercial experience of building websites and developing with a range of different Content Management Systems. You must have knowledge of the fundamentals of web development, PHP and JavaScript alongside a good understanding of HTML & CSS.
Your role will primarily involve developing bespoke object-oriented server-side and client-side solutions in a variety of environments & supporting, maintaining and upgrading existing live sites.

We create brands and digital solutions for a wide range of prestigious UK clients. We are looking for an exciting, enthusiastic, energetic designer to join us.
Ideally you will have a strong set of creative skills with interests in typography, illustration and photography alongside the ability to switch between print and digital. You'll also need to have a positive attitude, meticulous attention to detail and the desire to be part of an ambitious and talented team.
Applicants should have a relevant design degree and be able to use Quark, In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop.

As a key member of the digital team, you will be involved in any or all of the following project stages: initial creative concepts, design development, wireframing, detailed interface design and front-end implementation. You will be responsible for bringing technical specifications alive; delivering unique, cutting-edge interfaces which reinforce our clients' brands and engage their users.
The ability to take a job from start to finish, to show initiative and experience in handling the rollout of large projects will be a big advantage.
